Le workshop avec l’atelier Fluïd – Création verre, réalisé en binôme avec Hicham Lahmamsi, a été l’occasion de questionner la relation de l’artisan et maître d’art, avec son activité visant la perfection et le soin du détail. Cette recherche d’objets calibrés et maîtrisés déconnecte l’artisan de l’étonnement qu’il peut ressentir lors de ses créations. Notre volonté en tant que designer a été de mettre à mal la relation entre le cerveau, l’oeil, la main et son prolongement : l’outil. A travers une série de cinq défis, les souffleurs de verre ont dû s’adapter à différents handicapes allant de la privation d’outils, à l’inversement de leur pratique. Les cinq verres à eau de la Série 0 : Gravité, Borgne, Gauche, Saccadé et Novice, seront ensuite les points de départ de cinq séries inversant la démarche entreprise précédemment. En effet, nous avons constaté que la répétition, malgré l’handicape aboutissait à une maîtrise de ce dernier. Mis à mal, l’artisan s’adapte.
La préciosité de l’eau sur Belle-Île et la consommation récurrente des verriers durant leur pratique, nous ont fait choisir cet usage. Le nombre de pièces par série fait référence aux 5 sens ainsi qu’à l’effectif maximum de personnes qu’ils constituent lors de la réalisation de leurs plus grosses pièces.
L’objectif de Réhabilitation était de rechercher les limites des verriers tout en démontrant leurs facultés d’adaptation et d’apprentissage par la répétition des gestes. Cette relation entre l’artisan et le designer en apprentissage a permis un échange enrichissant, validant les acquis théoriques dans une application pratique pour l’un, bousculant les habitudes pour l’autre.

The workshop with the workshop Fluïd was the opportunity to question the relation of the craftsman and master of art, with its activity aiming at the perfection and at the care of the detail. This research for calibrated and mastered objects disconnects the craftsman of a surprise whom he can feel during its creations. Our will as designer was to perturb the relation between the brain, the eye, the hand and its continuation: the tool. Through a series of five challenges, the glass-blowers had to adapt themselves to different handicap going from the hardship of tools to conversely of their practice. Five water glasses of the Series 0, Gravity, Blind with one eye, Awkward, Jerky and Novice, will be then starting points of five series inverting the approach undertaken previously. Indeed, we noticed that the repetition in spite of handicaps it led to a control of this last one. Damaged, the craftsman adapts himself.
The preciosity of the water on Belle-Île as well as the recurring consumption of the glassworkers during their practice urged us to choose this use. The number of glasses by series references to 5 senses as well as to their maximum competence on the biggest creation which they are brought to achieve. Rehabilitation thus allowed the experience looking for the limits of the glassworkers while tending to demonstrate their faculties of adaptation and learning by the repetition.
This relation between the craftsman and the apprenticed designer allowed an enriching exchange, validating the theoretical experiences in a practical application for the one, knocking down the habits for the other one.
